The Community Development Partnership’s new affordable housing units in Harwich will be participating in the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) Green Buildings Open House on October 2nd, 2010. This event allows those interested in green building techniques and practices to visit residences and speak with homeowners and professionals who have successfully utilized the practices. Last year over 16,000 people toured 500 sites all over the northeast. Thankful Chases Pathway, in Harwich, will be one of the participants this year. With anticipated construction completion only a few weeks before the Green Buildings Open House event date, guests will be able to view the amenities that make this affordable housing development highly efficient; including grid connected solar panels on all south facing roof lines, Energy Star appliances, on-site storm water management, and highly insulated walls (R-20) and roof ceilings (R-45), 96% boiler efficiency rating and drought tolerant landscaping.
